Testimonials
Here are a few testimonials from a couple of the thousands of families we assist.
I can’t say enough about the Kim Alverson Foundation! I am a local nurse that helps coordinate aftercare for patients. We had a patient that did not fall in a category to receive a lot of resources. He desperately needed a ramp put onto his home so that he could discharge out of the hospital. The family did not have the funds to help with this or the support system. I reached out to this foundation and let them know our needs. They went above and beyond to make this wish happen. The patient was able to safely discharge home and is thriving. I am so very thankful for the Kim

My name is Veronica Aguirre, I’m the wife of Jamie Aguirre, we’ve been married for 24 years as of April 21st, 2025. We have two young children, Nicholas age 6, and Natalie age 2.
In September of 2023, we received incredibly horrible news that Jamie had an aggressive form of colorectal cancer, that’d spread to his liver and peritoneum. In October, he started chemotherapy and was placed into research under a phenomenal oncologist, nurses, and research team. Today, Jamie’s cancer measures in mm’s, and remains stable on the past few scans.
We were introduced to the Alverson Foundation a year into Jamie’s treatment, and I can’t put into words how grateful I am for them. They’ve not only helped us financially, but emotionally and spiritually too, and have become a huge part of our lives. No matter what's happened, they’re only a phone call away. From making sure our Heating and Air unit was taken care of, giving our kids a special Christmas, replacing our water heater, and helping us in ways I can’t even put into words, I am forever grateful. We didn’t just find a foundation, we found answered prayers, friends, and a family. Thank you Alverson Foundation, I am beyond thankful.

I am grateful for the support that the Kim Alverson Foundation has provided to our pediatric oncology patients and their families at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. I especially appreciate that they allow families to choose the types of assistance that is most helpful to them including counseling, prayer and financial support. As a social worker I am acutely aware of the emotional and financial toll that a child’s cancer diagnosis can take on a family, the Kim Alverson Foundation has responded swiftly and compassionately to come alongside these families and give them hope. One of the families I referred is a military family of six struggling to make ends meet, our patient’s mother shared how meaningful it was for them to receive an order of groceries sent to their home to help feed their large family – it was not just the groceries they appreciated but the care that went into this gesture. I look forward to continuing to partner with the Kim Alverson Foundation.
I appreciate our partnership,

Earlier this year, my son Santana (7) was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma, and it turned our world upside down. As the youngest of four, his personality is larger than life, but the emotional, physical, and financial strain of his treatments quickly overwhelmed us. The Kim Alverson Foundation has been a true blessing, providing essential support that eased the burden of constant hospital trips and missed work. They helped cover utilities, food, insurance, and even fixed the brakes on our car, which brought me to tears with gratitude. Thanks to them, we could focus on Santana’s recovery without worrying about basic necessities. Tyler and Travis not only provided tangible help but also offered prayers and positive words that lifted us up during the hardest times. Their kindness has made an incredible difference in our lives, and we are forever thankful.
Thank you
